Category: Every day drinking
L'Excellence De Bonassia
Appearance: The colour of this wine is deep red and some age is beginning to show in the short, slightly faded rim. Nose: Intense black currant fruit, liquorice and vanilla. Quite complex with some earthy notes. Palate: Medium to full bodied with good fruitiness. Well banlanced acidity and tannins. Without food, the tannins appear astringent. It finishes off with a lignering after taste of vanilla.
Conclusion: This is a definite food wine! Serve it with well seasoned steak. Under the right conditions this wine could benefit from further aging, but it's drinking very well now (in March 2008).
